The Orthodox Brotherhood of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Hong Kong has translated and published in the Chinese-language book by Archpriest A. Torik "On becoming one with the Church". Today it is one of the few books available to the Chinese reader who needs assistance in finding the Orthodox faith.

The monograph of well-known Russian Chinese scientist V.G. Datsyshen "History of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in China," published by the parish of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Hong Kong, continues a series of recent publications devoted to studying the history of relations between Russia and China, primarily in the field of spiritual and religious ties. Detailing the history of the oldest institution - the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in China, this launched a domestic Chinese Studies, which laid the foundation of the Chinese Autonomous Orthodox Church and was a major influence on the tradition of Russian-Chinese friendship.

Vice-Chairman of the Education Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church Archimandrite Cyril (Hovorun) was in Hong Kong and Macau at the invitation of the Institute of Sino-Christian Studies and the parish of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, where he delivered lectures in the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Hong Kong and the University of St. Joseph in Macau on Christian architecture and Orthodox icon. Lively responsiveness of listeners and discussion after the lecture confirmed interest in the study of Orthodox theology, which increases in the academic environment of universities in China.

China is a country that doesn't associate with Orthodoxy, however, according to the tradition, Christianity was preached here by Apostle Thomas and Orthodoxy came to the Chinese land in the late 17th century when Chinese Army captured Cossacks with a priest in the Albasin fortress and took them to Beijing where they later founded the Russian community and the Ecclesiastical mission. Rector of Sts Peter and Paul Parish in Hong Kong Archpriest Dionisy Pozdnyayev told Interfax-Religion correspondent Yelena Verevkina about Orthodoxy in China today, Orthodox believers, their difficulties and prospects.

As part of the IV Christian Festival organized by the Chinese University of Hong Kong, an exhibition of contemporary Russian icons is being held from February 2- March 20. The exhibition was organized by the Moscow Patriarchate's parish of SS Peter and Paul in Hong Kong. The priest-in-charge of the parish, Archpriest Dionisy Pozdnyaev, took part in the exhibition's opening.
